This week my family and I have celebrated Passover, the beginning of the Feast of Unleavened Bread and our Messiah’s resurrection. What a blessing it has been to read throughout scripture these three events working together in harmony.

During the past few days, I could not help but to remember Rev. 14:12; where it states Yahushua is returning for those that keep His father’s commandments and have placed their faith in Him. So for those of us that have truly repented and have accepted Yahushua as our Lord and Savior, we realize that He is our Passover lamb and through His death along with His blood, the 2nd death has no power over us. We now have the freedom, the liberty and the power to live in complete obedience to our Heavenly Father. Therefore, this time of year is very special to us.

Many times in scripture, it uses “Leaven” and “Tares (thorny plants)” to represent our sin and the worlds sin, notice Matt 16:6, 11-12, 15; Luke 12:1; 1 Cor. 5:6-8; Gal 5:9; and Matt 13:35-40. So for seven days we are commanded by our Heavenly Father to eat unleavened bread. We searched our homes and other dwellings to make sure there were no cooked breads or dough starters. How do we apply that to our spiritual lives? My family and I are using this time to meditate on the “Leaven” in our lives. What sin, or potential sin, do we have lingering around that could and will cause us to be puffed up and produce sin? What we find, we will need to get rid of. I mentioned earlier that tares are also a symbol of sin. What did our Savior wear on His Head? It was a crown of thorns. He bore a crown of sin for us, so that we could be made righteous in His father’s eyes.

Now today is the third day since Passover, today is Resurrection Day!

“O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?”

What a wonderful feeling, what a wonderful peace we have knowing that the 2nd death has no power over us. We are born twice to die once.

Rev 12:17 states that Satan has waged a war against those that keep the commandments of our Heavenly Father and testify the truth about Yahushua our Savior. In this war, Satan is going to shoot arrows, darts, set up trips and falls, do whatever he can to cause us to sin, to cause us to fall short. When this happens, run from it as fast as you can, get the leaven out of your home, out of your life.
